A home-raised environment
Our kittens are raised inside our home — underfoot, in laps, surrounded by family, other cats, and dogs. That intimacy is the reason our kittens are so well socialized. It's also the reason we are careful about visit traffic.
Biosecurity concerns
Because very young kittens are still developing immunity, we follow common-sense biosecurity protocols. We may ask visitors to change clothing, wash hands, or postpone a visit if they have recently been around other cats. Protecting the litter always comes first.
Virtual meetings
Before any in-person visit, we typically schedule a video call so you can meet us, meet the parents, and see the kittens in their everyday environment. For many families this is the most relaxed and informative way to spend real time with the litter.
Limited in-person visits
In-person visits are scheduled by appointment, after we've had a conversation and confirmed you are an active candidate for one of our kittens. We intentionally keep visits limited to protect the health of the litter.
No visits under 8 weeks
We do not host visits with kittens under 8 weeks of age. Before that point, the kittens are still finishing critical immune and social development with mom and their littermates, and outside exposure carries real risk.
An honest conversation about allergies
No cat is truly hypoallergenic, and no breeder can guarantee zero reaction. What we can do is talk honestly about Fel d 1 variation between individual cats, the impact of stress and travel on allergen levels, and how multi-cat households affect testing. We'd rather have a hard conversation up front than place a kitten in a home that can't keep them. Read more on our allergies page.
Every visit to The House of Neva is intentional — for the kittens' safety, and for a real conversation about whether we're the right match for your family.
