Kitten Care

Stress & adjustment.

A new home can be emotionally overwhelming for a young kitten. Mild stress behaviors during the first few days can be completely normal.

Normal early behaviors

  • Hiding
  • Crying or meowing more than usual
  • Reduced appetite
  • Mild constipation or softer stools

Most kittens settle quickly once they feel safe and secure.

Please contact your veterinarian if you notice

  • Persistent diarrhea
  • Lethargy
  • Refusal to eat
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Dehydration concerns

Young kittens can become dehydrated quickly, so it's always best to address concerns early.
