While every cat is different, breeders, veterinarians, animal behaviorists, and rescue organizations commonly discuss the emotional and behavioral benefits of bonded or multi-cat homes.
Commonly recognized benefits
- Less loneliness and boredom
- More exercise and play
- Better social development in kittens
- Reduced separation anxiety
- Emotional comfort and companionship
- Learning appropriate behavior from another cat
- Improved confidence and adjustment in new environments
This is especially true for kittens raised with littermates and constant interaction. Many kittens who grow up in social environments naturally thrive with another feline companion.
Our two-kitten discount & same-sex policy
We give a small discount if you adopt two because we understand the emotional benefits. We do, however, only sell same-sex kitten pairs, and selection is first come, first served. You'll have the choice if additional kittens are available — please inquire!
Do Siberians do better with another cat?
In many cases, yes — especially when they are young. Siberians are an extremely social and interactive breed. They form strong bonds with both people and other animals and often enjoy having companionship throughout the day. Because our kittens are raised together inside our home with other cats, kittens, dogs, and constant interaction, many adjust very naturally to living with another feline companion.
While every household and every cat is different, we have personally found that many Siberians thrive when they have another cat to play with, learn from, cuddle with, and grow alongside. Having a companion can help with confidence, activity levels, entertainment, and overall emotional well-being — especially during kittenhood.
Of course, a single Siberian can still live a very happy and fulfilling life with enough attention, love, and interaction from their family. However, many families who eventually add a second Siberian often tell us how much their cats enjoy the companionship.
